Klownhole

When you think of blistering rock at Songfight, one band easily comes to mind- Klownhole. This five man band are songfight legends with many wins and SF Live performances under their belts. The band consists of Jeff Bowden, Bryan Smith, Jason Spainhower, Jim Anderson and Ralph Ferrin

Ralph, Bryan, and Jason met in 1981 and began discussing starting a black metal/humor project. Years later, Ralph, Jeff, and Bryan take part in a band and later Jim and Bryan join a band. These bands would eventually lead to the creation of Klownhole. In 2002, the band moved to Seattle and joined Song Fight.

Klownhole's signature sound mixes 80's metal with punchy humor and that mix has brought the band two songfight wins- "Polaris" and "Driveway Seed (Girls Who Park In Cars)". Recently, they wowed many with their cover of ABBA's "When I Kissed The Teacher" for Song Fight's ABBA Sidefight.

To quote the band: "So what is Klownhole? On one level Klownhole is a bunch of guys. And these guys generate output in various forms. Conversations, music, written word, perhaps even *art*. They all have opinions. And those specific opinions, views, likes, dislikes...aren't what makes Klownhole. The specifics of how they express these things, the forms in which the output takes, how it is created. That, is Klownhole."
